FOR ALL THE GOOD THINGS AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN

Nathan Mbouebe

13 september - 10 november 2024
HANGAR

Selected by acclaimed photographer Stephan Vanfleteren, Nathan Mbouebe will present his latest work “FOR ALL THE GOOD THINGS AND EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN” at Hangar Gallery, running alongside Vanfleteren's own exhibition, "Atelier."

«What remains in the story of my life once I strip away its key and «important» moments? What is left is the everyday, the routine, the simplest and most familiar relationship one can have with the human experience. And although this is not what we initially focus on, ultimately, it is this simplicity of life that constitutes the primary narrative.»
This project is a visual journal that transforms everyday moments into significant ones, offering a contemplative exploration of presence, mindfulness, and the quiet poetry of life found in familiar stories. Through his work, Nathan captures these fleeting instances, encouraging viewers to reflect on their own lives and find meaning in the mundane. His images celebrate the beauty of the ordinary, challenging a world that often prioritizes the extraordinary. By doing so, Nathan's work serves as a gentle reminder of the profound significance that lies within the simplicity of our daily existence.

Nathan Mbouebe (b. 1996) is a Belgian-born photographer investigating social landscapes through a cultural lens. His work delves into the essence of human connection, capturing the rich tapestry of relationships formed by family, friendship, and chance encounters. Nathan’s photography underscores the profound gift of simply 'being,' a right reclaimed through his lens. In his images, the everyday becomes extraordinary, showcasing the intimate and the familiar in a new light.
